Agenda:
1. Possible event to coincide with the release of Calgary's Housing Task Force report
2. Letter writing campaign for communities
3. Phone tree - what are our priority issues?
4. Posters and fliers - awareness campaign

Purpose of the Event:
- to connect people on the mailing list with each other and their communities
- to engage the general public, surrounding community
- to create a buzz around the issue of housing
Time and Location:
- Saturday June 2, 9, or 16, depending on availability of location
- Riley Park
Activities:
- procession
- music performances
- community voices - those affected by the crisis
- invite politicians to attend
- 1 hour of speakers with music following
Communication strategy:
- word out through CHAI mailing list - 200 members
- ask each member to flier in their neighborhood and bring at least 2 friends
- connect to the arts community
- ad in FFWD
- ad in Hillhurst Sunnyside Newsletter
Transportation:
- arrange carpooling
- provide bus tickets
Refreshment:
- water only, no permit needed?
Action: Jen M will find out about availablity of park, insurance etc. and make plans for phone and letter writing campaigns.
Immediate Reponse to report:
- a press release should follow the report immediately
- editorials in the Herald and the Sun within two days of release - need to talk to them in advance
- FFWD would also provide coverage - Amy Steele
- letter writing circle to encourage people to get in touch with their MLA about the report
Action: AJ, David, Kent and Grant will meet the evening of the release to organize media response and formulate ideas for letter campaign
Action: AJ will organize a letter writing circle for the day after the release
Follow - Up:
- for one year after the report, CHAI will issue updates as to what has been accomplished
- after June, these will focus on the fall city election
Additonal Ideas for Action:
- anyone can speak Alderman Joe Ceci he meets 2:00 each Sunday on the steps of city hall for a garbage clean up around the Drop-In Centre
- all progressive candidates for the city elections should get together and strategize
- a Western Tent City like the one happening in Paris, hoedown for the homeless to coincide with Stampede
