The current (Feb 07) issue of Canadian Architect is entitled "Empowering Community" and is dedicated to various types of affordable housing projects currently being completed across Canada. There are various case studies of projects such as a transitional housing project in a redeveloping industrial district of Toronto and the mixed income redevelopment of the old Woodward's site in the East End of Vancouver.

Lots of interesting information of what kind of projects are being built, who they are for, their goals and how they were financed.

Canadian Architect is available in most magazine stores for $4.95, or you can read current issues in the reading room at the downtown library. I'm also going to make sure that there is a copy in the Arusha Centre's Library. Check it out.
