Hello I am currently in my fourth year of the Urban and Regional Planning program at Ryerson University. I am partaking in a senior thesis in which the topic is to compare affordable housing projects in the City of Calgary with best practices that is current in the literature. The areas that I will focus on are, location, neighbourhood scale, transit orientated design and greeness of the current projects. I would appreciate any information and guidance from anybody who is part of this initiative. I am also wondering if anybody would be able to be interviewed about some of the projects that have been completed (since 93) in Calgary. I will be in Calgary from February 13 until February 25th and would love to take people out for a coffee or so to pick their brains. If you are interested in the topic, and would like to start a dialog, please feel free to e-mail me at rmugford@ryerson.ca. I look forward to hearing from you. Richard Mugford |
