Currently there is a lot of unused land in Calgary that could be used for affordable housing. This includes government-owned land and church-owned land. Some of this land even has vacant or underutlized buildings on it such as schools or commercial buildings.

One of the biggest obstacles to building more affordable housing right now is the cost of land. Donating or leasing this land to a non-profit housing company to build on would enable a lot more affordable housing to be built.

Please encourage the various levels of government and churches to use their vacant land for affordable housing.
