I rented a room in a four bedroom house and a week after i paid my full rent/damage deposit of $1100 i was illegally and wrongfully evicted out of my home without a written notice of eviction. Then i was harassed on my cell phone daily, even though i was no longer in the house. The landlord and her sister changed the locks on the door to lock me out of my house, with my possession's still inside. So then i proceeded to make an appointment to talk to legal guidance about what my options were. I found out that because i rented a room in a house i do not qualify under the protection of the landlord and tenant act and that they can take my money and there is nothing i can do about it. However i have made several attempts to discuss the return of my damage deposit/remaining rent with the landlord. With each attempt ending in refusal of entry to my home, access to my belongings and return of my payment. With the result of the landlord being totally unreasonable and hostile towards me as well as unwilling to deal with the situation, which is the legal obligation of the landlord in the first place! I also know for sure that they own other properties and i ask myself "Why would they want to keep my $1100 from me when i have done nothing wrong and the fact that they make so much money from these other properties?"

I personally dont think anyone in Calgary should be homeless, yes it does happen but open your eyes! Why is it happening to so many people everyday? Maybe the government doesnt care. All i have to say is why isnt there any laws to protect people in my situation? Well no wonder there are so many homeless people in Calgary cause there are no laws to protect tenants from this type of theft.
I have lived here my whole life and this is a outrage! To think i could become homeless in my own city, at any time and my own government is to blame!!

Both of these girls are joint owners of the home and own many other properties. I wont get my money back and if you are a victim of these people please email me/respond to blog.
